I just broke off the headphone jack (male end) in my macbook's audio output. It's pretty damn stuck in there.

Any suggestions for getting it out? Tweezers, maybe? Or should i just go ahead and open the thing? Orrrr am I entirely screwed?

This, folks is what you get for not replacing a 14 dollar cord immediately.

opening it wont help... the connector is enclosed in a little box. you can try a chopstick or toothpick with a dot of super glue on the end and hold it against the center of the jack you broke off... that has worked in the past for me a few times. it depends if it has a tip or a hole ... if a hole is in there you can use a very small screw ... slightly let the threads go into it and you can pull it out. If all else fails you will need to take it in for repair... depending on the type of computer it may be a left i/o replacement or it would be a logic board replacement...

My girlfriend suggested the same thing and I thought she was bat **** crazy. I tried it, though and after a couple minutes got it out pretty painlessly, other than a small smudge of glue on the side of the port (Not in it, luckily.) What can I say? I'm not a surgeon. haha.

Thanks for suggesting that, because I wouldn't have tried it otherwise.
