Headphone line was working on Macbook Pro, stopped working.

My headphone jack was working just fine until this morning when I opened my computer. It's plugged in, but the sound keeps going through the head speakers. I have done the system preference check to make sure it is not muted etc. What's wrong?

this happens to me from time to time.. as simple as it sounds turn off your computer and turn it back on. it always solves my problem 🙂
