Headphone to Monitor - What do I need?

First off I hope this is the right area for posting this question. I have an LG 4K monitor that has an audio out outlet in the back of it and wanna use earbuds connected to the monitor for sound. I was told that the audio out in the back of the monitor is only for use with adding external speakers. Could anyone tell me if there's a way to get sound to my earbuds / headphones using that outlet in the back of the monitor? Like a cable or something? so instead of an external speaker I can use my headphones?

Sorry for the delay in reply. The monitor is in an awkward area not really allowing for easy access to snap a pic of the rear panel but I did manage to get something using my cellphone. The black outlet with the black cord is my earbuds. This outlet is for external speakers to be hooked up to the monitor but I'm wanting to know if such a cable or something of sort exists so that I can use the outlet as a headphone jack.

There were a couple other threads here on the forum about this monitor and I think if memory serves me right people said the outlet is to plug in external speakers which is why I can't directly use my earbuds with plugged directly into it. I don't have an external speaker to test otherwise I would have but my Windows computer does note a sound device in my device manager for the monitor which I do have enabled but again I think its strictly for external speakers which is why I was asking if there is such a cable out there that would make things work.
 
I'm using the monitor with a Windows 7 PC. I don't get it, am I suppose to use a certain kind of display cable?
 
Would this be in Control Panel - Hardware and Sound? In there I have computer sound enabled but also have LG Ultra HD for *Display Audio* And when I enable it there's no sound that comes from the headphones / earbuds. I also tried to disable the computer speakers sound so that only the LG sound was enabled to see if that would work and still no sound.
