Headset Microphone not showing up in Recording Devices?

Hey guys I have a macbook Pro 2012 and I have installed Windows bootcamp on it because I needed to download visual studio for my uni course.

I'm trying to get my headset microphone to work (I bought that split jack because the macbook only has 1 hole) but it's not showing up in the recording devices, only the in built webcam mic.

Any idea why?? Please help it would be greatly appreciated!!

Split jack as in one jack for the earphones and one for the microphone unit?
If so, with no technical background, I assume the microphone jack won't work with your MBP's headphone jack.
Do you have an iPhone? You could use the headset that comes with it.
Alternatively, you could look for a gaming headset. You can turn-off the microphone when you're not using it.
