Nope. This is a user forum. Also, Apple is very secretive about exact release dates for any of their products and services. They haven't said anything at all about ECG in Singapore or anywhere else yet.Does anyone know when Singapore will get ECG? Asking for a friend.
Oh boy, the wait is almost over Canada!

Yes it looks like the wait is almost over. At 70 it will be a nice enhancement, just hope it doesn’t just make me worry about a non-existent problem.
I will buy one when it detects a heart attack or pending heart attack, or if it detects severe heart rate drop to the point it contacts emergency services.
I work alone a lot of the time and I although I am healthy I fear someday I will find myself on the floor going into cardiac arrest and nobody around to save me.

Tell him to simply buy one from an Apple store in the USA. I did that and ECG functions worked for me in Canada prior to the government approval.
Great, then also tell your friend to set up the watch BEFORE he leaves the US to go back to Singapore. If he takes the watch back to Singapore without setting up, he won't be able to use ECG there because apple introduced a location check based on carrier data in iOS 12.2 and watchOS 5.2 that prevents from finishing the setup process while physically located in an unsupported region. That’s a great idea, he’s there every weekend.
Not so simply. I guess you probably bought your Apple Watch series 4 and set up ECG before iOS 12.2 and watchOS 5.2 were released, just like I did, and we both easily got ECG working in our respective countries Canada and Mexico prior to government approval.Tell him to simply buy one from an Apple store in the USA. However, in iOS 12.2 and watchOS 5.2, released last march, Apple got harsh more than ever before and introduced additional restrictions on ECG. They now verify the user's physical location using carrier data before allowing the user to complete the initial setup process for the ECG app. Therefore, anyone who buys their series 4 Apple Watch in a region where ECG is supported now needs to also perform the initial setup for ECG while physically located in a supported region in order to be able to use ECG.
It won’t. It used to activate before iOS 12.2, but it won’t anymore now. Like I said, Apple uses carrier data to check location. They can simply determine if the iphone is roaming and where, and prevent ECG setup based on that. That’s why, as 9to5.com reported back in its day, ECG setup in iOS 12.2 and watchOS 5.2 or later now requires to have an active SIM in the paired iphone and the iphone not to be in airplane mode. It did happen to a few people, when ECG rolled out in Europe, that they couldn’t set up ECG while they were physically located in an unsupported region. That is hard to test and confirm. Seems silly - If some guy buys a watch the airport and then flies to some other country and opens the box over international waters I wonder if his ECG will no activate. haha.

Yup. People who live in a supported country and buy their watch in an unsupported country while traveling wouldn't get ECG (BTW since march 25th the US is no longer the only region where ECG is available, as on that day the feature was rolled out to 19 other regions and then to a couple more a few weeks later). I can assure you, though, that the location check isn't performed constantly but rather just during the initial setup, so customers who live in a supported region and set up ECG don't lose the feature when they travel elsewhere. Neither do customers outside the US, like me, who bought a US Apple Watch and set up ECG before iOS 12.2 and watchOS 5.2 were released. We did not loose any ECG functionality.Seems like this could make some USA citizen customers unhappy if they order from abroad.
People will jump hoops to get the ECG function but if you are a US a citizen you should not have to. People travel all around the earth So it seems like a lot of extra effort to change things for no particular reason And in a way that I actually could affect legitimate USA located customers who happened to be on travel.
I have to believe what you say but it just doesn’t make any logical sense to me that Apple would have done that. But from what you say, I guess they did.
