The AirPods haven't been approved in the UK yet. The only thing 18.2 added was the hearing test so it's a step in the right direction, I suppose. Hearing test apps have been available on the iPhone for years so I doubt any regulatory approval was needed for the latest crumb we have been given. So updated to 18.2, and now I can do the hearing test. Needed to reset my AirPods Pro 2, but have completed test.
Still can't see any features to actually use the AirPods as hearing aids though? Is this still not available in the UK?
So frustrating!
Yes ….. You can add it in the update hearing test results. I think you can also add it in the health app.Can you apply the audiogram to the AirPods?
What do you have under hearing health ?I also have a UK iCloud account and UK spec device and running 18.2 but I can't see Hearing Assistance as an option under Hearing Health.
Are you away from the UK when the Hearing Aid shows? Pretty sure it's physical location enabled so if you are in a country where it's available, it would explain how its working on a UK spec & account device.I am running 18.2 and have a UK iCloud account and UK spec device
This is what I see and the functionality I have.
It's not done on physical location, it's your Apple ID / store location. I travel a lot and nothing has changed. These features were working for me before 18.2 (audiogram etc) when I was often in a country (including UK) not yet enabled for Hearing test. It's strange and dont know why. I have had an audiogram and used the very good transparency mode for a very long time before they were ever marketed as hearing aids, perhaps that is the reason I really dont know. Are you away from the UK when the Hearing Aid shows? It's not store/AppleID location as we could just change to a country where it's enabled to get it to work. That doesn't work, it did for the AI stuff but not the hearing aid. It's not done on physical location, it's your Apple ID / store location. I travel a lot and nothing has changed. When you say ‘us’ in the UK you mean a couple people on this thread, it’s hard to get any idea who does and doesn’t have the functionality or why they do or don’t.It's not store/AppleID location as we could just change to a country where it's enabled to get it to work. Anyway, somehow you are able to use Hearing Aid but there is currently no way for us in the UK to enable
Changing your Apple ID and store location is not that simple. It's not store/AppleID location as we could just change to a country where it's enabled to get it to work. That doesn't work, it did for the AI stuff but not the hearing aid.

I don't know where you got that information from because it is totally wrong. The actual hearing aid function is only currently available in the United States and the United Arab Emirates.
But you can take a hearing test in Cyprus, Czechia, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Romania, Spain, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States.

The hearing aid feature is available in over 100 countries.
