Hi.

I have a Series 2 Watch. I have this metric available on a couple of my workouts, but mostly it isn't available.

Do you have to leave the Watch on the Workout screen so the heart rate monitoring stays on for a period of time ?

I was wondering about this as well. I just did a workout with my new S3 and recovery wasn’t collected. Oddly, it was calculated once on my S0 after OS 4 came out, but never happened after that.

Now one workout into S3 and still no recovery rate.

I can confidently say that after a workout has ended the heart rate monitoring is still on, you can see the green lights on. I don’t know if I should be clicking Done, then waiting before returning to the Watch face.

But if so wait for how long ?

Mine always displays the recovery hr data and my hr always increases after the run lol. I’m in great shape and I’m not pushing it towards the end of my run, weird how my hr goes up though. I think they should space it further apart, maybe 3 and 5 minutes post workout.

Did you get this sorted. I’m on a series 3 and still having issues. Sometimes it’s recorded most times not. I noticed it’s not even firing the sensor once I end the workout.

I’ve set up the watch as new and restored the iPhone. Still no joy.

Also noticed that weather temperature is recorded inconsistently. My watch doesn’t even show a workout within the heart rate app on the watch. Been to apple store twice now and they also can’t work it out.

I’ve found Heart Rate Recovery to be very glitchy on my Series 2. Does not capture data consistently. Attached image shows what it recorded for my most recent workout.

I use a Polar H10 chest strap paired to my apple watch. It works great. I've never gotten reliable results while working out with any of my Apple Watches, no matter how tight the band is. Attached is an example of what the chest strap data looks like.

When you plug in the strap, is your LED under the watch on or off ?'while training ?
