Ok so the apple watch does not graph your heart rate during exercise it only shows the average HR but it does send the data to health kit. Unfortunately it is not in a very useable format. When I had my fitbit i Was able to see my HR over the course of exercise and see where I was within Cardio and Fat Burn zones. Does anyone know of an app on the iPhone that will take the HR data from Healthkit and display it in graphical format as I am suggesting?

this is one thing I miss coming from a FitBit Charge HR. The health app is atrocious when it comes to data display and charting. I'd like to see the watch data in the FitBit app.

Doesn't exist w/ WatchOS 1.0 b/c devs don't have access to the HRM and Apple's running app is an unfunny joke. When I preordered my AW I hopped it would replace my Garmin FR620. No dice. If you use monitor your HR during exercise to stay in zone then you need a dedicated sport or activity band with real time HR monitoring. Hopefully that will change soon as WatchOS 2.0 grants devs more access to the watch.

while they don't have access to the physical monitor they do have access to health kit. I was not asking for during a workout I was asking post workout which they would have access to the Exercise activity times and the HR data, both available from healthkit

I think Health all is atrocious for display because it's intended as a go-between/data store for health-related apps, no?

where are the health related apps then? I have no way to succinctly view my data (much like the FitBit app) other than the Health App... at least not all my health data. I know 3rd party apps can read my steps but heart rate (and I'm sure a few types of data) can only be viewed with the Health App.

I am developer of Heart Graph, an app specifically for viewing heart rate data. The current App Store version of the app doesn't support data from the Apple Watch, but we have a public beta program that you'd be welcome to join which does. If you're interested, please search for the Smoky Cat Software website in your favourite search engine.

I did attempt to try the beta but even in the beta it didn't appear that I could test out the feature without doing the in app purchase. was I doing something wrong?

We're happy to provide a test account for you to try all the features for free during the beta program - please see the details in your invitation email.
