Hey guys. I have a 2011 MBP... and before these updates, My computer ran between 30-40 C. Now after the 2 updates last week, it's staying at 70+ C. I use SMCfancontrol and have the default set to 3400 RPM. I'm in a fairly cool room and the computer have only been running for 30 mins, not all day. When I turn the fans up to full RPM... the computer doesn't drop below 60C.

Any ideas? this kinda makes me mad that I had ZERO heat problems until now. Heat doesn't bother me, it's when I use it in my lap that it makes me mad. Right now, it's at 71C and in on my desk.

I searched around and didn't see any posts from after the EFI updates...

Thanks for any input.

See if there's anything in activity monitor that is using a lot of CPU.

thanks... weird. It says VLC was using 100% CPU... and it wasn't even running at all. I had to force quit it. Temps are coming down now.

EDIT: I opened up VLC.. and apparently it crashed last time I used it. IDK if that explains why it was using 100% cpu.
Another weird thing, iStat pro widget.. said i had 100% cpu idle. Maybe it's only monitoring 1 core?
