Heath App spinning wheel

Hi,
on my iPhone 7 with iOS 11.1, the health app stopped working. When I start it, I only see a spinning wheel no matter which day I select (see screenshot).

I tried to kill the app, restart the phone and do a hard reboot of the phone but it does not help.

I'm not sure if this is related but this started happening after a very strange behaviour of the iOS: All my app icons simply disappeared (even Apple's app such as Phone or Messages) After some reboots , they all appeared again. I was running out of space on the device but then freed at least 8 GB.

I haven't tried a factory reset yet ..

any ideas?

Factory reset worked for me. I tried everything else and nothing worked. I hope this helps
