What firmware are you trying to JB and with what version redsnow and what type of os are you using on your computer?

ohhh GOD finally i did the hold donw the power button and home but it didnt jail brake :/
i have an iphone 3g 16 gb 3.1.2 jailbraked and unlock
i have an macbook aluminum snow leopard
any help how to jailbrake i relaly need the unlock too

Here's how to JB you iphone 3G with 4.0 firmware using pwnagetool on a Mac.
Then once JB just install ultrasnow from cydia to unlock it.

only advice is to restore your iDevice using the Apple stock OS and stick with it!! there are plenty of websites offering tutorials and videos on "how do I jailbreak my iDevice"...it is that simple...really...honestly...

By-the-way it is JailBREAKING (brakes are things used for slowing a vehicle down!), being pedantic...sorry!!
