I have a process/app sitting in my Dock that will not quit. It was part of a scanner application, and now it just sits there in the Dock. It won't respond to "Force Application to Quit" by right-clicking on Dock icon, and when I do a Force Quit from the Apple menu, it says it quits, but then comes back. Is there a way in Terminal or some other way to get this application to shut down??

Kill

1. Open Terminal
2. Type "top" (w/o quotes) and look for the PID (process ID) of the Oh-fending task
3. Type "kill ###" where ### is the PID from 2

That should take care of it.

Cheers and Happy New Year (which is going to be hard for many people but a wish nonetheless :) )
