They should have at least been conscious of the connection even if it wasn't their intent.

Though admittedly "Wake up, Neo" is the more iconic line.

Apple was conscious of the connection, but vast majority of Neo buyers wouldn't make that connection.

Hate to say it, but for people making a connection to the movie, it means they're middle aged. This is the same way kids born in the 1990s would have no clue about references to films in the 1980s.

MacBook Neo targets students in high school and college, not old farts.
