hi folks
this is my first thread so please be patient with me i havent read the entire site im far to busy ..
i got parallels stuffed into the mac (i was given) i dont like macs they are too much trouble, the one i have is an intel version with 10 .4 on it which i hasten to add is useless (to me ) at the moment .please dont rant about my ignorance i am very specific on software and apple do not support it....or should i say they dont support apple to be fair.
what a pity ........i love macs for the design tho it sits on my coffe table and keeps the other arf from griping about cables and boxes:)
parallels is rubbish and slows me down ... i would like to install xp but realise there may be serious issues with drivers not being on the image, i would like to know if anyone has successfully installed with drivers included ..and what those drivers are .....:confused: im not looking for a quick fix and i dont want multi boot jus plain ole ex p please keep it simple im an artist not a scientist..:)
maybe just a link or two to help me out would be nice ..if however anyone knows of a thread on this site i would be very gratefull.
ps i would very much prefare a datsun to a farrari....

English: please stop abusing it.

As to your content of your post (assuming I've deciphered it correctly), you need to update to Leopard (at least). Then install Windows whatever under Boot Camp. That will enable you to run Windows without having to boot OS X.

On a semi-related note: I find it amusing that you claim to be an "artist" but have an aversion to Macs...

hi matey
ha ha ....
first of all i don't claim to be an artist .... i am an artist ..a signwriter and cad designer and jeweller and welder and a dad.
and i hate web design and print..ers ..;)
i never liked macs because every time i went to a print house they only had macs.... and no brains... and wanted every thing in pdf format ....??????? dear oh dear.... ok there must be upwards of fifty file formats i find usefull but
i hate pdf s it seems every secretary in industry is abusing the format ...i use vectors mainly or 3d meshes to generate gcode for cnc
usually mac users start to glaze over when i start to explain why i like windows but then they dont seem to have to output to a machine other than a printer or cutter..or at least if they do they are keeping it quiet..:)... i would like learn about any cnc mac related stuff if any one has an inclination towards 3d in a serious fashion, most of the stuff i have seen besides blender (for 3d) is inadequate or convoluted and even blender goes round the houses
it looks like ill have to bite the bullet and upgrade to leopard for bootcamp
its probably safer anyhow...????
