I am considering replacing my MacBook with an iPad Pro. Uses are web surfing, Remote Desktop, and FaceTime. That’s basically it. I really like the ProMotion feature for smooth scrolling.

Planning to get one of the combo keyboard and touchpad cases to take advantage of the new mouse capabilities.

FaceID compared to Touch ID is not such a big deal for me.

I like the idea of a lower entry price so I can upgrade it sooner.

Any reason why I shouldn’t get the Refurbished 10.5” iPad Pro compared to the 11”, since it costs almost half as much?

Half as good that's why :) you want the best you gotta pay up. Iv'e had a 11" for 18 mths after a 10.5" with white spot.
Best iPad i have ever had and have had them all.
Check out white spot 10.5" iPad.

If you are planning to replace your laptop completely you might consider whether the USB-C port in the 11 would be better for you then the Lightning port in the 10.5.

When comparing the price, there are three options, new 11”, refurb 11” and refurb 10.5.” So if price is the most important factor go for the 10.5” otherwise go for at least the refurb 11”

Thanks for the suggestions. Lightning vs USB-C doesn’t make much of a difference for me. The “white spot” fiasco sounds like much more of a possible mess to avoid, especially if one were to buy a 10.5” used and out of warranty. Are there any other differences in performance that one would notice?
