Took my MBA to my parents this weekend and had been using it with no problems until this afternoon, I'm pursuading my P's to buy a mac as I have had no problems with any of mine and this..

MBA had around 2 hours battery left but now will not switch on ;(

    Got any ideas ?

Is it not powering on at all or is it the wake from sleep issue (i.e. is the backlight turning on but the screen is blank)? Have you tried plugging it in? It's possible the battery drained (it shouldn't have, but it's possible). If there's an Apple store near you I'd suggest taking it in. Perhaps it's just a loose cable or something quick.

Sounds like a dead logic board, let Apple deal with it

Nothing is perfect. If it's not repairable, you'll get a new one. This is what warranties are for. Don't worry too much. ;)

Be aware of the electronics inverted bell curve--most electronics fail at first startup, then within the first two weeks or so. After that period, chances of failure drop a huge amount until generally a couple of years go by, then they start to rise again. The point is that while it does suck that something fails in the first two weeks, it shouldn't be shocking--it is extremely likely once this is fixed that you'll be set for the life of the laptop.

Don’t be disappointed. Apple is usually great with their AppleCare service.

A lot of failures occur within the first week and it happens to every single electronic device on the market, nothing Apple can do to prevent this. Once a month pass by, the odds of it failing within the next few years are much smaller than you would expect.

My MBA was perfect the first two days then on third day, it just started to panic every time I stress the laptop. Took it to the Apple store on the same day, they took it and will send me a new one by the end of the week or next week. I’m happy with how it went. Other stores would make this a pain in the butt to deal with but I love how Apple handle this.

Open my 13" inch today and the same thing happened to me. Black screen...dead, took it to my local Apple store and they said it was a bad logic board. Had it about 2 weeks. They hope to have it shipped back to me by Wednesday or Friday this week with a new logic board
