iPod Help -- 1Gen 5GB iPod

Okay, so I just came across a 1Gen 5GB iPod for $75 with original box and accessories -- however the iPod is not in the best of conditions......but works as far as I can tell.....is it worth it?

Why do you want it?
To use as a music player or as a collectible?
You describe it as not being in the best of condition, so as a collectible it will have little value.
To use as a music player, if it still works, will be close to the end. The hard drive must be nearly finished, same as the battery.
If you want it just for music get a shuffle or nano.

If you have it complete in box (CIB in collectors' terms) - then it is worth something... especially Apple stuff.
