Help 20' IMAC NOT recognizing external optical drive

    We have a imac 20" bought 9 months ago, Im in school and bought adobe suite and a printer, installed the printer with the internal optical drive, I go to install the adobe suite and the optic drive accepts the dvd and then just kicks it out! so it is toast, the apple guys gave me a repair depot to take the Imac to.:confused:

    Here is my \question I borrowed a friends external superdrive for his macair and want to install the adobe and use my mac till winter break. I plug the dang thing in to a open usb and notin nada what is up what do i have to do?:confused:

    Unfortunately, the Macbook air superdrive only works on the MacBook air and Mac Mini Server.

    Wow. Just... Wow.

    I mean, the free USB DVD burner that came with my video camera has worked on every computer I've plugged it into - I even gave it to my buddy when he bought a macbook air. Apple. Way to guy guys. :rolleyes:
