I have a 5th gen ipad Model A1822, that just stopped working, over a year ago. Black screen and doesn't seem to charge up etc. I dont think the photos & videos I had on the ipad are saved anywhere else (icloud or whatever). Is there ANY way I can recover them now? or am I just out of luck. I’d love to get them back…Anyone? Thanks

It's possible it's just the screen that is faulty. Try plugging it in to charge it up even though you can't see that it's charged it may be charging. Then plug it into your Mac and see if you can see the device in finder. If so you may be able to access the photos that way. I'm assuming you have a Mac. I'm not sure if this would work with another type of computer.

You could send it to a data recovery service like OnTrack or DriveSavers. Be sitting down when you get the price quote though!
If you were using iCloud to back them up you can go to iCloud.com and get them there
