I bought an Apple Watch cellular yesterday but having some issues with cellular connectivity.

Due to the fact that my network (Three mobile) doesn’t support e-sim or Apple Watch I took out a second line with Vodafone which does. I set up the new line using an e-sim and activated number share on the watch.

the watch connects to cellular but keeps dropping the connection and I have no idea why.

On my iPhone within the cellular settings do I need this to be set on the new line or should it not be affected?

I’m at the point of returning my s7 if I can’t get this to work.

Keep in mind that the cellular connection on the Apple Watch is only on when it’s out of range of the iPhone and when it’s not connected to a Wi-fi network. (To conserve battery)

I understand. To test this I turned my phone off and went outside to but it wasn’t connecting. I kept getting the no cellular or Wi-Fi error

The AW esim shouldn’t be affected by the settings of the sim on the phone as long as it’s on there.

Are you are definitely getting cellular service on the AW and it’s dropping ? Or not getting it at all ? …. My gut feel is that this rests with the Vodafone side and provisioning the secondary sim rather then the watch itself

It's dropping.

When I first set it up, it connected and I tested it by calling my number with my phone turned off.

I then went for a run without my phone and that's where the problems started. You're probably right in that's it more likely to be Vodafone causing the issue.

When you check the status of the cellular connection does it take long? Mine takes up to 30 seconds to tell me the status.

Ive just tested mine a few times and it seems to take anything to 10-15 seconds to get the cellular service.

Thanks.

Do you think 4gb data per month is enough for the watch?
