Help: At&t "identity Verification" Etc...

    i ordered on the 15th at 5:40 pm ish

    i got a confirmation email that second WITH AN ORDER NUMBER.

    since then i haven't heard anything, and my order was not recognized by their system ERROR OS001: etc etc...

    my most recent email from at&t which came just now reads as follows:

    Dear XXXXXX XXXXXXX,

    Thank you for your recent purchase at att.com. We're pleased that you have chosen AT&T as your service provider.

    AT&T is working with a leader in Identity Verification services to reduce the risks associated with identity theft, protecting both AT&T and our customers.

    To ensure the security of your online purchase, we cannot process your order until your identity has been verified.

    Please call us at 866-416-8166 by June 23, 2010 so we can verify your identity. When speaking with our AT&T team, you will be asked to answer a short list of unique questions that only you should be able to answer. Again, these questions are intended to verify your identity for the purpose of protecting both AT&T and our customers.

    Our inbound call hours are as follows: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 9 PM (EST).

    Please reference order number: 505XXXXXXX9

    If we don't hear from you by June 23, 2010 your order will be canceled automatically.

    anyone else getting this run around? etc? now my order wont be processed and i'll be out of luck until the 14th of july or later

    ALSO: I'VE BEEN ON HOLD FOR 30 MIN and still waiting. ugh.

    any input, past experience, optimism appreciated. thanks!

    By chance, did you have one of those "Attention!" status for your processing status?

    I'd actually be glad if I got that email. It means that they are working on my order. :)

    that's the thing, my order still shows up as 0S001 not found in our system blah blah blah.

    ugh :(.

    so them wanting to insure that the card holder is the one buying the phone is giving you the run around. your right identity theft hardly happens with stuff like this. they said you had till the 23rd just relax. I'm sure they are pretty busy today. it's should be all good.

    update:

    i got through after about 45 min on hold.

    the rep was very helpful, and after about 10 mins of questions and "verification" i was prompted that my order would be processed and to check again later on tonight via the online "check order status" page.

    i checked and this is what i got:


    Date Ordered: 06/16/10
    FREIGHT: IN PROGRESS
    I4 #1: IN PROGRESS
    I4 #2: IN PROGRESS
    SIM: IN PROGRESS
    SIM: IN PROGRESS

    all under "ordered" and none "backordered!" :)

    HOWEVER i ordered yesterday (15th) and it says 16th... hmm.

    If they just got around to processing your order today, it says the 16th. Mine does and I ordered yesterday around 2PM.

    sounds like we're in the same boat iblakeee

    keep posting as you get updates

    i'm just happy i know mine's real and on the way at some point :)
