Help! Black bar on bottom of screen after long usage

Hi

It started out small when the black bar was covering my bottom screen especially after using a long period of time . usually a restart will do.
i woke up one day and that black thing covered most of my screen!

The top of my screen can still see my battery. what is this issue 🙁

Welp, that doesn't seem right. I'd probably reach out to apple on this.

My first inclination is an app running causing this issue, but if it started off only a small percentage of the screen and suddenly "grew". Something is failing or had failed hardware wise - at least that's my thinking. If its easily reproduced then take it into apple had show them
