I have parallels running with windows xp. Used bootcamp once to try it out, fooling around without completing the process and now whenever i start up my laptop a bootcamp icon is on my desktop? Anyone know how to get ride of it for good?

That's your HDD bootcamp partition.
If you want to restore your Mac's HDD to a single partition use the Boot Camp assistant to do it by using the restore feature. All the data in that partiion will be lost.

Do a spotlight search first to try find it, it is normally located in your Applications\Utilities\ Folder.
Do you use Time Machine? If yes, you may recover it from your backups.
Last resort: install it again from your Leopard DVD.
