Hello. I have an iPod 5 with a broken touch pad (it doesn't recognize my finger) and lots of valuable photos in there. When I turn it on, it says 'Slide to update' (because the iOS is not the last one), but obviously I can't do it. Siri is not working too, and when iTunes detects it, I can't click the 'Trust button'.

I am a little screwed.

Help please?

Ever do a backup in iTunes or to iCloud? I'd look there first, especially if you have another iDevice or Mac you can look in your preferences and see when your devices last backed up. By default if you use iCloud it'll back up any time it's plugged in and connected to WiFi.

Otherwise, you could get the screen replaced and have a functional device again and recover your data and make a backup. Not cheap but if those photos are that valuable it may be worth it. I think it's $129 from Apple and probably similar for third party repair places as well. Apple's route may wipe the device though so it may be better to go third party to keep the data intact.

In the future, make sure you keep up to date backups.
