HELP- Can't log into app store or activate iMessage/Facetime

    I can access the app store, but only to view it. cannot download anything, free, cloud or new.
    I also cannot log into the app store via settings.
    Occasionally, I can get my apple ID and password to appear as though I am logged in, but iMessage and Facetime show "waiting for activation"

    Anyone have any idea what may be causing this ?
    I have tried setting the date forward a year, then back to auto update.
    I have even changed my apple ID, but still no joy.


    iPhone 5 running 6.1.2.

    Make sure you're logged in with the correct Apple ID in the following areas:

    Settings > icloud
    Settings > Messages > iMessage
    Settings > FaceTime
    Settings > iTunes & App Stores
