Hey guys,

I know this is a rather heavily covered topic, but I have a specific question concerning monitor resolution. Im looking to upgrade my older 20" iMac with an external screen. I want to use between a 24" to a 27", and Ill be sitting 18 to 20 inches away from the monitor. The resolution will be 1920 x 1080. Will the 27" monitor look ok at this resolution(or will it look too pixelated) from this distance? Would it be be better to go with the 24? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Wow, I was just about to post a similar thread. I will be sitting a little bit farther (about 25"), and I'm debating whether or not to go for the ACD 24" @ 1920x1200 or the 27" ACD @ 2560x1440.

I would not go with the 1920x1200 or anything other than native resolution ont he 27" however. It will look blurry and ugly. Stick with native resolutions everytime.

Anyway, I'm hoping to hear what other people think.

Yeah Im very interested to find out. I currently have an older dell 17" (900x1440) that I set up vertically next to my 20". Its great for documents and such. I love having the extra real estate so Ive decided to get a much larger monitor and use it as my main screen. Im not too sold on 1920x1200 but I hear great things about the dell ultrasharp 24" (im thinking of going matte this time around) The imac glare is whats driving me to a new monitor to begin with, and the main reason I dont want to just upgrade to a new imac.
