Before I state my problem, let me begin a quick background on my problem. Just like what the mac OSX default settings for the desktop, I usually see the battery status bar, airport status bar, bluetooth and clock status bar on the top right side of my desktop (ie. in the right side menu bar). However, when I turned on my computer today, I found that those status bars were not present. The only status bars that I can see are the spotlight and adium (when i turn it on) statuses. I am aware of the checkboxes for status in the system preferences for each one... therefore i decided to try and check the checkboxes. The problem now is that even after having the checkbox checked, I still don't see the status bars appearing. Furthermore, the preference does not appear to be saving, as i click the 'back' button and go back to the preference menu, just to find out the 'show status in menu bar' checkbox has been unchecked. I tried restarting the computer and with no avail. Please someone advise and help.
