Hello all,

I am trying to connect my 2011 mini (2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 and AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB GPU) to my 2015 Samsung 4K TV using HDMI. I know it will only go up to 1080p and that's ok. I tried connecting to different HDMI ports on the TV but to no avail; the computer doesn't even detect the presence of the TV.

Currently there is a 1080p monitor connected to the computer via mini display port.

Any suggestions / ideas how to get this to work? Thank you! :)

If you open the Sound in System Preferences, is there your TV listed for sound output?

If not, it's definitely not being detected in any way. First thing I'd try would be a different HDMI cable from something you already have plugged in (Playstation/Sky box/Apple TV) and see if that works.

If not, try to briefly unplug your monitor and see if it'll then detect.

Thank you for your patience while you try these troubleshooting steps.

What happened? Did a different HDMI cable solve your problem?
