Hello All.
Here's the short story. My friend and me made a movie last summer and we authored/burned it onto a dvd. It was created in dvd studio pro and we used Mpeg 2 encoding. My friend / producer deleted the movie files when it was done being edited and burned but he did not export a .Mov first! This is a signifigant problem seeing as it will be hard to get the DVD into my demo reel.

Can anyone stear me towards software that can convert the dvd data or the raw Mpeg 2 files back to a MOV file? (They are seperate Audio & Video files)
I know the quality won't be as good but its all we can do.

I know that FCP does not work with Mpeg 2 files and I don't think Premier does either. I have both if anyone knows a way. There is no protection or macrovision on it because it is our own project.

Can anyone help? :(

I'm pretty sure that Premier can work with mpeg 2. At least the copy of Premier 6.5 I have can.

Thanks for all the help! I used dvdxdv and it worked great. created a very good quality .mov thats almost as good as the original. The only problem is the watermark it leaves in the free version. That will be fine for my demo reel though, its just for a class, not an employer. I will eventually fork out the $80 to register it. Good program so far!
