    SOLVED

    Hello all
I have been learning how to use terminal for the past couple of hours and I have started to RAR many files, but I have run into a problem. That problem is I don't know how to RAR folders within the directory.

Can some one give me a crash course on how to RAR entire Directories

In the image I have here, I have a test folder with 3 folders within that folder each folder has a text document in it. When I RAR within that Directory it only RAR's the ".DS_Store" file. But I also want the Folders RARed.

Any help would be thanked. :D

    Cheers,

I haven't tried this with any RAR commands, so due warning is given, but with most commands, using a -r switch will cause recursion to occur.

"-r" is used for repairing a Archive.

I would not have any problem if I could just zip them, but I have a FAT32 External hard drive which I Cannot re-format, Because I use it as a Swap Drive for Windows. I just need to to be able to compress it as a group under 4GB per file, RAR is the only file format that supports this and in usable across Windows and Leopard

Here a list of commands.. Since I'm new to terminal it could be staring me in the face but I'm not sure.

    Thanks for any help.

    Regards,
    Name101.

Look down in the <Switches> section of your reply

    r Recurse subdirectories

This is the option you want
