Hello everyone, now that I finally got my first Macbook Pro, I'll be asking many many questions because I am new to the OS. So, I would like to thank you first of all for taking your time to answer my questions.

    First question:
How do you disable the search history thing? The in search bars, when you type a letter, the matching words come out. Say, like in google search.

If you mean in safari, click Safari > Reset Safari and make sure 'clear google searches' is ticked

    Thanks for replying!

Just another question. How do you change the keyboard setting so that you have to press fn+f1, f2, f3, et. to use the adjustments like screen brightness? Currently, I don't need to press fn to use those adjusments. Sorry for not being able to explain so clearly.

System Preferences > Keyboard and Mouse > Keyboard >
There's a check-box to toggle using the F-keys for special features or standard keys, or something like that.
