A colleague has just handed me her iPod mini to charge up on my mac, and it appears to be dead...

The battery is flat, and I've connected it via the USB cable (she doesn't have the firewire cable to hand) to my G4, and it doesn't show up on the desktop or appear to be charging.

Is there anything I can do?

(she is looking rather concerned, and I am at a loss – and she's hot, so I want to help)

Thanks.

kinda same problem with my boss's 4G 40GIG, usb cable doesn't work on his ipod, works on mine 3G 40GIG perfectly, Firewire cable works perfectly on both.

just try the firewire i guess is about all to isolate the problem.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I'll get her to bring the firewire cable in tommorrow and see if it works.

Cheers, m.
