The OP is on an iPad mini, not a computer.

Compute, Just go to the iTunes store and purchase what you want... much easier.

not exactly what you are asking for but.....

Netflix and Prime Video allows you to download many (most) of the videos for offline use. if you sign up for these services you can DL directly onto your iPad and have them for offline travel. I also believe that both of these services have free trials (month at least) that you can use so it wouldn't even cost you anything for one trip.

Both Netflix and Prime have great children's cartoons.

Is it legal to download YouTube videos? I’ve read from other websites that it violates the terms and conditions. Other forums don’t even allow discussion of download methods out of legal implications.

It is perfectly legal to download YouTube videos for personal use as long as you do not distribute them further.

However, you are violating YouTube's terms and conditions, so theoretically if they find out you are doing it, they can suspend your account.

So, if you download, just download a video here and there, don't attempt to create your own personal mirror of YouTube or anything like that which will attract attention.

I think technically use of YouTube requires agreeing to its terms and conditions. So violating such an agreement is illegal in the sense that Youtube could prosecute, although that would be impractical. So a breach of a legal agreement rather than violating a law on the books.

    I’m
I’m from the States and can’t download YouTube videos (from their iOS app) but strangely enough I’m working in the Philippines right now and the download video link actually works here for most videos. No YouTube Red required. No clue why it would work here but not in the US though.

Yeah, interesting. I know country domains may differ in access ability and restrictions to websites from the same provider. This sounds like an example.
