Help: Epson Smart Panel and Perfection 1670 Scanner

I bought this scanner in July and now that I've switched to Mac, I can't get the Smart Panel software to work. I mainly use the function that uses it and my printer as a copy machine. I've tried installing the disk (which says supports OX X 10.2.x) and it doesn't work. I go and download the updates and it still doesn't work.

Anyone have any advice (beside scrap it)? Thanks.
