I am trying to install turbo tax 2011 on my imac, Just installed SL and now can't install TT- get code 36. I watched a video on UTube advising to use utilities/terminal dot_clean space and the drop the file or enter the path. I can't do that because the file is not on a drive. It is on a dvd that I am trying to install. I have never had issues like this with turbo tax. Ever since I loaded SL, I have had numerous issues with simple tasks. Please advise proper steps to allow me to install TT.

Much appreciated!

Copy the file to your applications folder and open it from there. This app writes files inside of the app folder and is probably telling you it doesn't have write permission. There is nothing to install from the cd, just copy.

An "error code -36" alert in Mac OS X indicates that data cannot be sent or received by the operating system for some reason. You may want to get another app DVD and try again.

It turns out that the install disc was scracthed and that was why it could not read it. I replaced the TT disc with a new one and it loaded fine. Thanks for your input.:)
