I have an external drive i use for TM and misc storage. today, one of my idiotic family members pulled the USB cord out of my MBP without unmounting it first. when i plugged it back in i got an alert saying i shouldn't have done that, and then a TM warning saying a backup failed.

now, when i go to finder, the drive is not there. i restarted my macbook, still not being detected. what can i do??? please help me... :(

btw, after this family member joked about doing it on purpose, i decided to pull a little prank and steal the power cable to their laptop.... sucker. (yeah, its not a happy household.)

please help me so i can get my drive back and let the family healing begin.

With it attached, goto your apple, click about this mac, this more info.

Under the USB tree, is it detecting something plugged into the port?

Also, does Disk utility detect anything?
