Hey all,

I had some files on my desktop that I delated like, 10 minutes ago, and I need them back! They weren't there long enough for time machine to pick them up and do a backup. I've heard rumors of a program that will recover lost files after they've been deleted. Something to do with the fact that when you delete a file, the information is still there, but it can be overwritten. Help! anybody!!???

First off stop using the computer. As you browse the internet or just use the computer files data is written to your hard drive and any data written increases the odds that your files will be overwritten and made unrecoverable.

Second get Diskwarrior to recover your files. If your Mac Model is supported by the Diskwarrior boot CD you can boot off of that and run the recovery. Otherwise you will need to boot off another hard drive or connect your Mac to another by Firewire and load its hard drive via target disk mode, hold T key while booting as I recall.
