Help! Games keep crashing

When playing "words with friends" or "angry bird", my iPad bounces back to the main menu page without allowing me to continue my game normally? Is my iPad defective? I've had no problems with any other game or APP (and just recently started having these problems).

Not very tech savvy, but hoping for some answers or suggestions. Bad news welcome, though not wanted! LOL.

Double tap the Home button and clear all of the apps in that list. Your iPad could be getting low on memory (not storage space).

Had this issue too.
Closing all apps didn't fix this. So I've reset the settings to default and now it works fine
