Help, gmail on new unlocked iphone

i just got the latest iphone unlocked and i'm having a few problems.
1. i can't access my e-mails when i set it up by doing this

my phone replies with this:
"cannot connect using SSL, do you want to try setting up the account without SSL"
2. my youtube does not work.

1. Make sure you have WiFi (I've tried it with EDGE and its either really slow or won't work). Try deleting the account you made and try again.
2. YouTube doesn't seem to work over EDGE (for me at least). What firmware are you running? There are a few "YouTube fixit patches" on Installer.
