This happened about 10mins ago I was on myspace then suddenly another screen popped up also I got a pop up window saying it is highly recommended that I download this virus detector (forgot the name). I got scared so I started closing the other screen that popped up. Then the virus detector was going to download but I stopped it. Could I have a virus??? If so how did this happen?

Ignore it. It's just a web-popup advert. It's not scanned your computer or anything similar. Don't fall for their scam.

$10 says it's offering a Windows .exe file for download to check. It's just an ad in all likelihood.

It is just typical Windows BS
Don't fall for it

Besides, there are no viruses for the Mac

Relax and enjoy the OSX experience

Also, just to put this out there..

Those Pop-up messages saying you've won $100,000...

They aren't true either 🙁

😛

But, but, the guy in Nigeria said my check was in the mail 😕

When selling a car a few years ago (when the Legos scam was new) I actualy recived a "cashiers" check by Fed-Ex from a Nigerian scamer. Of course I wasn't about to send the deference without first confirming and cashing the check.

😱 dam, so the check cleared right!? I would cash that check the minute I opened it!!! ________(verb) it, it's free cash! ( xD

How does a forged check clear or equal free cash? You live in the US and don't know about Nigerian internet scams? 😕
