I just received a refurbished MacBook Pro late 2013 Haswell 15in/2.6ghz/512/750M from Apple store.

I charged the laptop to 100% the first night, next am put it in my bag and went to work and when I opened the laptop it would not power up at all. I had to plug it in. Once it booted it had battery icon with X through it. about 1 min later the icon change to 100% charged with the included 85w adapter

I said ok, maybe one time thing. I ran battery down to 7% last night and charged it over night. Again same thing this am. Took it too work, open the laptop, nothing. Hit power button and it would not power on. Plugged it into 85w adapter and again it powered up with power button. The battery icon again showed and X through it. 1 min or less later it said the batter was at 100%.

Each time the laptop was closed for about 6hrs and plugged in each time

I am using the included 85w adapter and second one I purchased brand new.

Any idea what I can do to fix this issue. I really not happy having to plug it in to get it to power up.

The laptop is otherwise perfect. But kinda defeats purpose of having a laptop if its 100% charged but I can power it on after being closed for few hours

tried everything and no joy.

Oh well, first Apple refurb that was bad.

Sending it back. Waaa
