Hi everybody.

I recently just purchased myself a headset (Canyon VoIP Headset CNR-HS1).

It comes with to connectors, a green(headphones) and orange(mic).

I have a Macbook Pro and all it has on the side is a jack with the symbol for headphones.

I want to get it to work so it will pick up my voice through the mic. Is there any way to do this? On mac and on a windows partition.

Thanks.

The MBP has a line in right next to the headphones. You should be able to plug the orange connector in there. There's also the sound preference within the system preferences that you might need to adjust for the the microphone.

I believe MBPs come with a microphone bullt in though and you may not need the microphone portion of the head set

It only has one jack. And it has the headphones symbol. I can't get it to recognize the mic :/

It sounds like you have a 13" MacBook Pro then. The 13" does not have a separate line-in jack, it toggles between using the port as input and output according to the Sound preferences. You should maybe see about getting a USB headset.

This might work:

I don't think you will hear yourself back thru the headset unless the app has a setting to feed your own voice back to you, but it will work as a mic and headset.
