Yeah, it's a pretty good deal if you're ok with the screen on the 13" MBP (1280x800). You can upgrade it to an SSD yourself and upgrade the RAM yourself as well.
Might be better to get it from Apple instead of Best Buy because of the extra $100 gift card.
It's really personal preference. The 13" Macbook Air with student discount is only $50 more and includes the SSD, higher resolution screen, and much better battery life. Check them both out in the store and see which one you personally like better.
