Help! how to open terminal when blocked...

    hi all,
    I've done this in the past to open blocked application, but cant remember how to get terminal open. In the past i needed to type \\?????? into safari or firefox and terminal would open. can someone tell what that word is. i wanna say it was //telnet?

    I don't know why exactly you would neet this but it's "telnet://"

    thanks ergdegdeg,

    as i was typing the question it came to me. this opens terminal if it is blocked on my machine and i can open all blocked programs through terminal i believe. im trying to open Disk Utility.

    yeah it does, but its not! the admin password was lost and i have to get a new OS CD from apple. but until then im stuck doing this.

    can someone tell me how to open Disk Utility through terminal? i can open application such as itunes, idvd with this command... open -a itunes but im not sure how to get to disk utility.
