If you feel you need it, and trust me, you don't CLAMXAV free from the app store is safe, but really look at the grief it's caused you..Glad you are sorted now.

you absolutely do NOT need security software. one of the reasons macs are far superior to windows computers.

As others have already stated, you don't need any 3rd party antivirus app to keep a Mac malware-free, as long as you practice safe computing, as described in the following link.
