The title says it all. I was deleting some software from my computer, and I must have deleted some sort of file for text edit, now it shows a question mark in my dock, and I cant find the app anywhere on my Mac. How do I restore it? Thanks

Wow! all these replies in like 5 minutes! I tried using Disk 2 of the resotre disks, but it doesnt say textedit when I click "customize" - it's only stuff like iPhoto, iWeb, etc. SHould I do it anyway?

try searching spotlight with the disk in. u might be able to find it that way. then just copy the file into ur Application folder.

just might work :)

i deleted textedit. need help

hey guys,

i got the part of getting pacifist and using the cd. but for some reason everytime i try installing textedit by searching in finder, textedit (new version) in demo mode gets installed. i need help on how to install textedit using the pacifist.
thanks.

Why do you need TextEdit at all? There are plenty of free, lightweight text editors you can download and install in its place.

Not many if any Third party options can save in the 8 formats TextEdit can plus it is built into OSX with all the plusses that come with that.
It isn't as lightweight as it looks. ;)
