so i got sand in my ipad 2 speakers.... should i leave them stuck in there? there are like 4 holes filled ... should poke them through?.. would if harm my ipad internals... like is there a logic board located nearby or what?... HELP!

thanks

Take it to an Apple repairer and see if they can take the back of the iPad 2 of and clear it for you. Try to keep your electronics away from beaches etc. as a general rule.

Lay a piece of tape over the speaker grill and see if you can pull it out that way. Or maybe try a vaccum?

I got gunk in my headphone jack that Apple took in the back and got it all out. They should help you too.

i know apple did it for u ... but would the MAC STORE do it. cuz the closest apple store is liek 1.5 hours away

...where exactly are you that you're near a Mac Store but not an Apple Store? Eugene?

Anyway, why don't you call them and ask? I don't see why they couldn't help you.

No one here is going to know what the Mac Store is, by the way. They only have them in Washington and Oregon.

Went to an apple store... They can't open my iPad I guess... And they guy didn't really know what he was talking about... He said he thinks it's ok since there is dust inside mobile devices... But dust isnt sand... So he didn't really know...

Therefore... I'm asking ppl on the forums to see if anyone knows.

People in the Apple store are more qualified when it comes to AppleCare than anyone on these forums. If they don't think it's an issue (and have recorded it as such) then it's not an issue. Chill.

Can you hold the iPad so that the speaker is down and then give it a little shake ? Maybe the sand will fall out.

There are no moving parts inside the iPad, I don't think it will hurt anything. I think I might have some cookie crumbs in mine.

Well MAYBE you should have told you you took it to the apple store first....
And no a grain of sand isn't going to bother the ipad... and if so... What are you going to do about it? It won't be covered under warranty...

The sand would bother me as well, it's disconcerting. I'm not sure how it may impact your device. Watching it may be your best option.

You could probably build a castle with the amount of sand in my iPhone. And guess what...... IT STILL WORKS. :p
