ebay or amazon
you most certainly can find them.

I just got a new gamecube for my 5 year old for under $100 (I know its not the same with a 10yo)
at 5 he really wont care or know its not a wii, he just wants to play video games with his dad :)

just google "buy wii"
I found dozens at the cost you are looking for, but for how long.....

Pardon me if I'm being cynical, but *all* the Wiis, the full capacity of a big company churning out machines for a year, got sold out since last Friday?

I do think that Nintendo is holding a lot of machines back so that they can create an artificial supply problem, and get lots of free publicity about the Wii craze on all those news channels starved for real news.

Once people realize that there really are wiis out there, I think that most of the people who want wiis this season will be able to get them at or close to retail price.

I just want to get one now, at what I am convinced is the absolute peak of the demand, so that I can move on to other things, and that's why I'm willing to pay a modest premium.

I'm skeptical too but it is believable. If you think about it, it's sold more than the xbox 360 which has been out twice as long. Add the PS3 sales to 360 sales and the wii has still sold more.

You can also try outtastock.com... they have a handy widget that checks every so often the big online retailers. All I did was call up my local Wal-mart every now and again and one day they had one in stock. So I just drove over and bought it. And it only cost the regular retail price of $200 something, not those $300+ bundles.

I'd try iTrackr. Looks like it should work. I can tell you that if Target has them in the weekend Ad they will have some that Sunday. Just be sure to get there at 8am if you want to make sure you get one .

This is pretty much spot on. I work the electronics department at the local Target, and if its in the Sunday ad, you better haul butt to Target and wait in line; they will hand out tickets to avoid mass rush insanity. In fact (I really shouldn't even bother saying this, as we'll probably get harassed constantly if more people find out), we typically get the units in several days in advance, but we aren't allowed to put them out until the day of the ad.

Then, on that Sunday, you best be there to get it when the store opens (preferably no later than noon if you absolutely can't be there at opening time), because once those ones are gone, we probably won't get any back in until the next circular comes out with Wii's advertised. Or until the Christmas season is over.

what annoying me is some places have a wii in stock but you can only get it by buying the bundle. It crap and a complete rip off that they are forcing the self made bundles on us.

As you probably know, Nintendo doesn't do business like Apple. With the iphone, you had to wait a little on launch day, but by the end of the week you could just walk up and buy one.
With the Wii game console, it's still only sporadically available a full year after its launch.n

Please, you think Nintendo wants you not be able to find a Wii?

14M+ sold....they're going the best they can to get them out the door

I completely agree there. There does not appear to be a cost savings when you buy a bundle and yet Wal-Mart in particular enjoys forcing your hand.
