Hi guys i've been trying to update my iphone to the new software ( iOS4 ) ( sorry i cant remember the name off by heart ) and it got to the end of the update and an error occured , and my iphone 3G froze up on the " attach to itunes " screen ... so i unplugged it thinking it would unfreeze it but it didn't , now my iphone has frozen on that same screen , it wont reboot manually ( hold down snooze and home button ) and itunes won't recognize it when i plug it in and to add to it all , it turn itself off after about 45 seconds ... i honestly dont know what to do ... any pointers would be much appreciated

Try putting the phone in DFU mode. Worth a shot. Google will show you videos and tutorials on how to do it.
