From a CPU standpoint, the metal MB really is just a tiny MBP (our tested processors have nearly identical clock speeds). So unsurprisingly, performance gains between our MB and MBP test systems were negligible. GeekBench confirmed that basic and floating point processing were pretty much the same across the board.

This thread was talking about the new 2.0 one (not originally, but it went in that direction later), not the new 2.4 one which that site you linked was talking about. They compared the old MBP and the new MBP and new MB 2.4. Just wanted to make sure the readers knew that. The site I linked compared them all (older MB 2.2/2.4, older MBP, and newer MBP. Plus the site I linked went in a lot more detail on specific performance issues.

Still counts as MacBook though. And Gizmodo doesnt lie with their information, fact of the matter is that the new MacBook 2.4, is as powerfull as the old MBP, based on results from that test.

Now I have the first model, the 2.0, so that doesnt count for me, but I wonder how close I could come if I maxed out the RAM, and bought a 10000 rpm++ HDD.

Like I said the thread wasn't about the 2.4 new one and you didn't say that in your original response. Act like you were right all you want, but the fact is you should of mentioned which MB you were talking about. People were discussing the 2.0 new one and then you made your comment which made it look like it was about the 2.0.

Let it go, guys :)
It looks like the OP has already abandoned this thread, probably off too busy setting up his refurb MBP. No point of continuing in this thread.
